Hopeful Baptist Church is seeking a part-time youth minister to work with approximately 40 children in 1^st – 12^th grades to develop a program that will enable our young people to be a vital and growing part of our church. The majority of time will be spent working with 6^th -12^th graders.

Youth Minister Job Responsibilities

Attend and participate in both Sunday morning services
Work with the young people of the church 1^st - 12^th grades
Initiate an outreach and visitation program for the youth
Develop and implement short-term and long-term goals upon the approval of the Pastor and Deacons
Serve as chairman of the Youth Committee
Coordinate or deliver Children’s Chat
Direct Vacation Bible School
Counsel parents/children
Coordinate recreational activities such as lock-ins, mission trips/projects, camp, retreats, World Changers
Chair the Christmas Play committee
Present Sunday morning Opening Exercise for the older youth
Plan Youth Sunday
Lead youth during Family Mission Night
Serve on the Church Council
Attend church fellowships
Serve as a substitute Sunday School teacher
Publish newsletter/calendar of events
Plan or participate in a once a month activity
Meet with minister on a regular basis
Communicate with youth who are absent for more than one Sunday in a row.
