MISSION FUNDING
OPPORTUNITIES
Our church youth and
adults are involved in several mission projects this year. In order
to keep the finances at a minimum for the volunteers involved in
these projects, we have several ways listed below that you can take
part in supporting these efforts….
Hopeful Cookbooks are

March
21st,
there will be Lasagna for lunch following the 11am worship service.
April

And
then on May 16th
hot dogs will be on the menu.
The
meals are at a cost of $5 per adult and $3 per child (11 and under).
On
Friday, May 7th,
there will be a Car Wash and Spaghetti Dinner.
Adults
$10 and Children $5. All proceeds will benefit Hopeful’s
mission projects.
SUNDAY
SCHOOL
We currently have 247
on roll, three new members last quarter. The average attendance for
this quarter was 124. The following six classes have at least 70% in
attendance:
Adult
Men, Kathleen Noel, Class of Hope, Grades 3-5, and Nursery 1 & 2.
We encourage each adult
class to have a “Get to Know You” Social each quarter to
bond the class. Valentine’s Day and Easter holidays are
excellent times to get together for a meal or dessert only.
Please be in prayer for
our dedicated teachers to continue teaching. We need substitutes now
for Grades 3-5. I wish to thank all Sunday School teachers and
workers for their continual effort in bringing God’s Word to
the classroom and for their support of the Sunday School program here
at Hopeful Baptist Church. Special thanks to David Willis, who
orders and delivers all the Sunday School material as it comes in.
If you need more or different Sunday School materials, please see
David or me. If you need school supplies, bring me your list and we
will get what you need.
Andrew Brabrand, Sunday
School Director

FOCUS
ON PRAYER
“Take my yoke
upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart.
Matthew 11:29
As I
grew up in a Christian home where I was taught that I was a sinner in
need of salvation, I also learned that God, in the person of Jesus
Christ, had paid the price for my sins. Then, through the working of
the Holy Spirit, I recognized the truth of this teaching. And as a
child, I placed my trust in Jesus and committed my life to Him. From
that day on, I tried to live out the command to love God and my
neighbor. In 2 John the word commandment is used four times to
remind us that we are to walk the path of truth and to love one
another. Christians who do this will find joy and freedom, not
boredom and bondage, as some people mistakenly think.
I love
the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:30, “My yoke is good to bear,
My load is light.”
Used from Our Daily
Bread, written by Hebert Vander Lugt
May we
pray today that those who have not yet found our Savior to be a
gentle and loving Savior who wants only good for his children will
find Him. When we think about God’s great love for us, how can
we help but want to live to please Him in our commitment, our
lifestyle, and our devotion to Him. I pray today that if you do not
know this wonderful Savior, that you will find Him and place your
faith and trust in Him. Don’t worry about all the tomorrows,
trust Him today.
Meet
with our ladies at the church for prayer every Thursday at 10am.
